The Justice Journey Alliance has a mission to offer opportunities for people of all races to come together to address race relations and social injustices, with the goal of reaching an ever-increasing population divided by race and injustice.

Leadership

Rev. Alvin C. Bibbs, Sr.
Founder and CEO
Rev. Bibbs is a highly sought after motivational speaker, mentor and serves as an organizational coach/facilitator to congregations and not-for-profit organizations across North America. In addition to serving as President and CEO of The Justice Journey Alliance, Alvin is the Founder & Principal of The Obsidian Consulting Group, LLC which provides Compassion & Justice Ministry Consultations; Cross-Cultural & Diversity Sensitivity Training; Brand & Marketing Management Solutions; Emergent Multi-Ethnic Church Growth Strategies and Leadership/Organizational Development to ‘assist‘ and ‘propel’ organizations to the Next Level.
Cynthia Lipsey
Chief Managing Officer
Cynthia is an alumni of The Justice Journey Experience™ 2008, 2010, and 2017. She’s a member of Salem Baptist Church of Chicago, under the leadership of Pastor James T. Meeks, where she has served in multiple ministries. Cynthia has great admiration for the individuals involved and the history of the Civil Rights Movement and has a desire for reconciliation across racial, ethnic, and social economic lines. Cynthia believes in the charge given by the late Pastor Rudy Howard, during The Justice Journey Experience™ 2010, which states “I am, the best, God has, to do, what needs to be done, for the kingdom, at this time.
Hannah Bonecutter
Community Engagement Specialist
Hannah is an accomplished, young woman with high aspirations and immense dedication. Recently Hannah obtained her Master of Public Health from the University of Illinois at Chicago, with a division in Health Policy and Administration as well as a Global Health Concentration and Health Disparities Research Certificate. Hannah is a Class of 2022 Fellow of the U.S. Presidential Management Fellowship (PMF) program. She is currently completing her PMF at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Office of Enterprise Integration (OEI) as a Management and Program Analyst, located in Washington DC. While serving as an educator here in the USA and abroad, Hannah also plays the role of an entrepreneur with her own professional organizing business entitled BoneClutter - We Organize to the Bone. In the arts realm, Hannah Bonecutter is an actress, model, spoken word poet, and award-winning filmmaker. She remains a devoted, enthusiastic social activist, serving on boards of multiple nonprofit organizations. Through many diverse pathways, Hannah strives to greatly improve this world to become a much better place.
Jenny Chang
Director of Partnerships
Jenny is the Director of Partnerships overseeing the Mentoring2Thrive/One America Movement/Heal America Strategic Partnerships. In addition, Jenny is the Executive Director of Monster Education Foundation, equipping teens from Chicago to change the world, and founding board member of Eagles’ Wings which envisions a Lakota-led, long-lasting youth ministry at Pine Ridge, South Dakota. She is passionate about service to others and mentoring youth to make a positive impact. Her desire is to live out the call of Isaiah 1:17 with young people God has called her to mentor “Learn to do right; seek justice. Defend the oppressed. Take up the cause of the fatherless; plead the case of the widow.”
Rev. Cheryl D. Cornelius
Chief Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion Specialist
Rev. Cornelius currently serves as the Chief Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Specialist for JJA. She is Founding Partner of Dynamic Inclusion which partners with leadership teams of companies, churches, schools, and nonprofits to help them take actions that strengthen racial and cultural diversity, inclusion, and equity. Rev. Cornelius was the Chief Operating Officer for Wings Associates, LLC in Chicago. Prior to working at Wings, she was the Director of Operations for the Christian Community Development Association, managing the day-to-day operations and overseeing their national conference. Rev. Cornelius developed the CityLINC volunteer program for Vision Chicago a partnership between the MidAmerica Leadership Foundation and World Vision. Rev. Cornelius has taught workshops in a variety of areas for churches, nonprofits, and corporate volunteers, She is trained as a Peace Circle Facilitator, Anti-Racism Trainer and is Co-Pastor with her husband Robert Cornelius, Sr. at Church of Gary Covenant Church in Gary, Indiana.
Rev. Ward has spent nearly 20 years overseas working with next-generation leaders before moving to the Twin Cities in 2011. He served for 7 years in the USSR as it transitioned into Russia, and 12 years in South Africa during the early days post-apartheid. Bryan now serves as the City Director for ReWire in Minneapolis/St. Paul, and Chief Strategy Officer for Beyond Words.
